Looking north you can see the lighthouse of Tjärven, and to the east you can see Flöjtan and Lågskär twinkle in a distance. Surrounding Söderarm is ocean, barren islands and naked rocks. Out here in the outer archipelago, sky meets ocean. Söderarm is still an important landmark at the entrance to Stockholm archipelago.

| Söderarm is located eleven nautical miles from Räfsnäs (near Kapellskär) and 95 kilometres from Stockholm. By car to Räfsnäs and boat, the trip takes approximately 1.5 hours from Stockholm.
